Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Thank you to each and everyone of you for making 2022 another great year down here on the Texas Coast. Many fish were caught. And maybe even a couple lost here or there. But good times were had by all for sure and we thank you for making that possible. 2023 is now underway, with fish already in the boat. We look forward to continuing this trend and having you back down on the water with us again soon. Join the Fly Fish Rockport newsletter to get future Fishing Reports right in your inbox.

Rockport Fly Fishing Report – January 1st

Its a new year, and time for a new Rockport Fishing Report. As this is the 1st of January, this is officially the first report of 2023 for what we are seeing out there fly fishing the flats on the Central Texas Coast. So let's see where we're at heading into the new year here. Since our last Rockport fishing report, just before Christmas, things have been outstanding. It was cold as crap over the Christmas weekend. Lows were in the 20's, with daytime highs in the low 40's, at best. So it was pretty terrible outside. A perfect excuse to hang out inside or spend time with family

Rockport Fly Fishing Report – December 23rd

We are now most of the way through December and right in the middle of our Winter fishing season. Maybe Winter was a bit earlier than desired this year? Maybe that will mean Spring shows up a bit early as well? Either way, here is the latest and greatest Rockport fly fishing report for Rockport, Texas and surrounding waters. The fishing has been pretty good as of late. We have had to dodge a few little cold fronts, since our last report. And as we write this, it appears the world is ending outside. It's 24 degrees with a stout wind from the North. Not exactly fishing weather. So

Rockport Fly Fishing Report – December 6th

Time for a fresh Rockport fishing report for the first week of December. November ended up being a bit of a bust, so we are looking forward to a new month and some better weather. So here we go. After canceling more than 20 days within the month of November, due to weather, we have been back in action pretty well around here lately. There have been a couple nice sunny days, but still a bit fewer than we would expect. But the winds are light, sun is trying and we are making it happen out there. The fishing is actually really really good right now. As in stupid

Rockport Fly Fishing Report – Nov 22nd

Well we asked for some Fall weather, and look what we got. It sucks outside!!! So this may be a pretty quick and painless Rockport Fly Fishing report for the week. But since we have some time on our hands, why not at least do something with this thing we suppose? The weather is the big story lately. Today marked day number 11 in a row that we have had to cancel all of our trips. And we still have the remainder of this week that it looks like we will be kept off the water with weather as well. Not exactly what we would expect for our Fall

Rockport Fly Fishing Report – Oct 28th

Finally its Fall! And FINALLY Capt. Jeff got his act together to update the Rockport Fly Fishing Report. It has certainly been "a while" since our last. But rest assured that we have been out there most every day chasing fish up and down the flats of the Texas Coast. The fishing has been very good. Fall is here and things are finally cooling off. All positives for the fishing down here. We are still seeing schools and tails most every day. More so in the morning than anything. But finding tails anytime during the day isn't really too shocking. We are fishing all over the place lately. Some

Rockport Redfishing Summer Recap

Rockport Redfishing Summer Recap With our first cold front of the year now come and gone, we are happy to say that Summer is over and we are on to our Fall fishing season. No more hot, muggy days. No more super early mornings. And a lot more happy fish to be had in the cooler months coming. Perfect! But we wanted to take a second and look back at some of the good times had over the past few months down here on the Texas flats. Also, thanks to all the great folks that spent some time with us on the water.

Rockport Fly Fishing Report – June 5th

It June. New month, and time for a new Rockport Fishing Report. Especially since it's been a little bit since our last. So we will bring you up to speed on what you missed and what we are seeing out on the Texas flats these days. The fishing has been very good. Doesn't really matter where you choose to fish, it's just pretty darn solid out there. Big schools, small schools, tails, crashers and anywhere in between. The fish are plenty happy each day and our clients are getting lots of shots. So no complaints there. It is the beginning time of Summer around here now. So the temps

Rockport Fly Fishing Report – May 8th

We are one week into May and due for an updated Rockport Fishing Report, for Rockport, Texas and surrounding water on The Coastal Bend. It's been almost two weeks since our last report, so we will do our best to get you caught up on what we are seeing out on the water each day, and what we are expecting for the days to come. Then hopefully we will have another Rockport Fly Fishing Report for you in a weeks time. Overall, we would say that it's been pretty solid fly fishing The Coastal Bend. Really, the weather has been the only drawback for us. We've had a decent

April Fly Fishing Report For Rockport Texas – April 12th

We've been off the water a few days, watching the wind blow. So I guess we can carve out some time to update our Rockport Fly Fishing Report here in April. It's been a little bit since our last update. Not too much has changed really. But we will fill you in below on what we are doing and seeing here while fly fishing in Rockport and surrounding waters. First off... the wind sucks!!! It's been a little blowy lately. Enough so that we have scratched all our boats the past three days around here. Sustained winds in the 20's and gusts up into the low 40's mean that
