Night Fishing Trips
Night fishing is the best way to beat the heat during the summer and catch loads of fish at the same time. These are my favorite trips to do beacause of the sheer numbers and size of fish that are usually caught. Catching large reds and trout under the moonlight is an experience that most people never forget. After guiding night-time flounder gigging trips for 5 years, I have a tremendous amount of knowledge about where and how the fish feed at night.

On night fishing trips there are two fishing options available, both of which are equally effective:
1. Wadefishing with artificial lures or bait around shallow flats and back lakes. (Sometimes sight-casting to reds in the moonlight)
2. Fishing out of the boat with live or dead bait.
On a typical night fishing trip, we leave about 2 hours before sunset, and return 3-4 hours after sunset. Normally, the best action is from 1 hour before sunset to 2 hours after sunset. The best night fishing is normally 3-4 days before or after the full moon, but we catch plenty of fish when there is no moon out.
