Redfishing Rockport Texas

Here goes, for your Rockport fishing report for early November. The good news is, we finally had a decent storm blowing out of the North. It was long over due. This will help settle some of the color in the water and blow more of the water out of the bays. All of this much needed, as mentioned in our last Rockport fishing report. So this is really good news.

We had a few days of fairly stiff wind from the North. Not much for cold or rain, which was fine. But plenty of wind. So we were on the water straight through it all, with decent success. Certainly the wind blowing in the upper 20’s limited the water we could work with. But there were still fish to be found, and they continued to eat. All good news. The water is certainly lower after the storms. Its still pretty high, but dropping. With that, clearing as well. Again, all good news.

This morning was some of the best fishing we’ve seen in a few weeks. Even with solid overcast, and a light shower, we had schools of 10+ fish tailing all over the marsh. We must have run into at least 15-20 schools of fish. All tailing feverishly. Not to mention a few solo cruisers here and there as well. Winds were near calm, following the recent storms, and the fish were hungry. Its the best action as far as schools, in quite a while. Great to see again.

The coming weeks weather is looking perfect. Sun, low winds and better water conditions than we have had recently. So we are expecting some great fishing as we head further into November. We recently received an email thanking us for the detailed fishing reports. They also asked that we try to post one prior to the weekend, so people can plan accordingly. So we will hope to get another Rockport fishing report posted before the weekend coming up.

There are still some late Fall dates available and early winter dates for guided fly fishing. But they are booking up very quickly. If you are interested in chasing redfish on the fly in the Rockport area, contact us and we can get your trips booked.
